RESPONSIBILITY
I guess that people from every generation say that they have witnessed a lot of change in the world when they get 50.
Well now it's my turn. LOL!
I'm not going to talk about the changes in the material world, but about those in the attitude towards responsibility.
When I grew up it was normal to be held accountable for the consequences of ones actions. It wasn't enough to answer: "Because I'm told to", when asked why something was said or done.
I'm amazed by how many people hand out their responsibility to the government of the country, to their religious leader and/or their god, or to "everybody".
Like following up the rules, internalising them, means they're cleared from the responsibility for their throughts, feelings and actions.
I've found out that taking full responsibility for my thoughts, feelings and actions, means I'm becoming very critical, aware of ethics and politics and many things more, including more creative. Even though I'm just one person in this large world I feel the consequence of seeing/reading/hearing injustice and other matters means I have to react. I can't change the world on my own, but I can make more people aware that things need to be changed. Without judging them, because it's my believe that only One can judge us humans.
I live according to certain guidelines, that come down to respect and love for every form of life. That's a huge responsibility, including all areas of life.
If everyone would live the same, this world would be a better place for all. Without hunger, poverty, and with peace.
