Hello!

Welcome at my christmasblog.
Here you can find my ramblings about my daily life with 6 children (some with special needs) and their father, international and national politics and my health.

26-12-2005 Today the children were far more quiet.
Nyo (autistic) and Thami (ADHD) just need more time to get used to the fact that these days are different from the usual weekend days.
I woke up with a burning migraine, but as we weren't going out, it didn't matter much.
I just couldn't visit all the sites I wanted, to wish all a merry christmas.

Had a talk on the phone with someone who has also more children with special needs.
We're far more housebound than others and at times it feels like life is slipping away and we do nothing else with our lives than caring for the kids and doing laundry, leaving our talents unused.

It's true...in a way.

On the other hand, I've been able to broaden my horizon through internet. Have gained friends that have opened a view into other cultures.

I also have the opportunity to make people aware of important issues and I take a strong stand against discrimination and for care and peace.
I could have done more without children, but I won't die feeling I haven't left my traces on this world.

The day ended with a large surprise:

Snow!!!

5 minutes before midnight the street got white, so we've had a few minutes of a white christmas after all.

Will add a new page tomorrow about the fact that our christmastime is different from yours.
